Dallas, Lambert and Kane walk out of the airlock and into the harsh atmosphere of the planet.

Ash takes his station and monitors the team's progress.

While Parker and Brett feel the need to bug Ripley about money again.

Back on the flight deck, Ripley asks Ash if the ECIU system has translated any of the mysterious message yet.  When he replies "not yet" she asks if he would mind if she tries.  Ash says "Please do".

Ripley monitors the ECIU.

Jones wonders how juicy alien mice are.

On the landscape, the crew find something.

It looks like a crashed spacecraft.  This has to be where the signal is coming from.

Dallas tells ash what they have found, but his signal is becoming too weak to properly understand.

Ash shortly loses the signal from the team.

They find a way in......

.....And discover a dark and eerie place.

Kane says he wants to see what's on the other side of a wall, and proceeds to climb it......

Could this be the ship's pilot?

Dallas takes a closer look.....

He says that it has been here a long time, it's fossilized!

.....and looks like it exploded from inside.

Kane calls Dallas over.  He's found a hole in the floor and is curious to see where it leads.

Back on the ship, Ripley tells Ash that Mother has decoded part of the message and rather than a distress call, it looks more like a warning.  She says she wants to go out after the other crew members and tell them.

Ash tells her it's pointless, as the time it takes to get there, they will know if it's a warning or not.  Ripley reluctantly agrees, and stays on board.

Dallas lowers Kane into the hole in the floor.

Kane is awestruck at the sight before him... "What the hell is this?" he says.

He finds a layer of mist covering what look like eggs.

He slips and falls into the "Egg chamber".

He's not hurt and goes to take a closer look at the eggs.

Before he can touch it, one of the eggs emits a short, loud hissing sound.  It startles Kane.

He sees movement inside, and tells Dallas that it looks like organic life.

Four flaps open to reveal...........

Definitely organic life.

Curious, he leans over the opening to get a better view of the creature he has found.

But gets too close, a small but deadly creature leaps out at him, instantly smashing the glass in his helmet and attaching itself to his face.
