Wikipedia:Texan Collaboration of the Month

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The current Texan Collaboration of the Month is the King Ranch.
Every month a different Texas-related topic, stub or non-existent article is picked.
Please read the nomination text and improve the article any way you can.

If you're here, and haven't put your name to the List of Texan Wikipedians yet, get over there!

Every month, a Texan Collaboration of the Month will be picked using this page. This is a specific topic which either has no article or a basic stub page that is directly related to Texas, the aim being to have a featured-standard article by the end of the period, from widespread cooperative editing. It is our hope that, unlike our sister COTM Southern U.S. and numerous other COTM's and WikiProjects, we won't go through long lapses of activity — a hope backed by our world-renowned Texas Pride.

This page is loosely administered by Shem, please direct questions to either this page's talk or his.

Selecting the next Collaboration of the Month

A new COTM is selected on the first of every month, after roughly ten days of nominations and voting; new nominations and voting begin on the 20th of each month, while the current COTM's editing is winding down.

There's no confusing process to it. Just list Texan articles you're interested in expanding below, and we'll find consensus for the next month's collaboration while working on the current one. Standard approval voting should work, for now.

Candidates

Texas Longhorn Athletics

Red River Shootout

  • Ideally I should have nominated this one sooner, since the 100th game is this weekend. Ah well, better late than never. Johntex\talk 21:53, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Now listed as a suggested Front Page news item for October 8th. Johntex\talk 02:36, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

Texas (main article)

  • UH Collegian
  • Acjelen
  • Comment: I'm eager to do this as well, but not yet. And not without organized/dedicated cooperation from other groups like Wikiproject:Texas and the Southern COTM. Shem(talk)
