Almost every article in Wikipedia could do with some expansion. This page is for listing those stubs, substubs and other articles that have decent information, but that you find embarrassingly short or insufficient for an encyclopedia of the stature to which Wikipedia aspires.

Also see Category:Articles to be expanded.

Alternative pages:

Please list entries chronologically (newest at top) and add {{expansion}} to the talk page. You can also add an HTML comment, such as <!-- This part of the article needs to be expanded --> for any specific part that needs to be expanded. An alternative to the HTML comments is to add the {{todo}} template to the article's talk page, and to then fill out the /todo subpage explaining what needs to be added. Once an entry has been expanded, please make sure to remove it from this page and to also remove the {{expansion}} template from the talk page.

  • Gymnopédie#The music - "It would really be excellent if the page on [the Gymnopédies] could discuss their style and sound" (Vivacissamamente 00:17, 7 November 2005 (UTC)), copied here by --Francis Schonken 07:37, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
  • Ngaraard - A creditable entry written by a fourth grader from its country's capital, but it lacks sources and contains mostly anecdotal information. I copyedited and wikified, but it deserves expansion by someone who knows more about Palau. Her Pegship 17:03, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
  • James Logan High School - This page is lacking an effective description of the Band and Color Guard Program. If you are knowledgable about this topic, feel free to edit. Big.P 06:56, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
  • Animated cartoon - This page was formerly just a redirect to Cartoon. However, that page is more like a bloated disambiguation page for three topics; art, editorial cartoons, and animation. For this reason, I created this page. Some redundancy exists in articles such as animation and traditional animation, but I feel this is the right place for the history and development of the animated cartoon. Please feel free to edit and expand. --Janke | Talk 19:30, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

  • French literature of the 18th century - most of the French literature century pages have gone through some extensive expansion, but this one (and the seriously messed-up Contemporary French literature) is still hopelessly lacking. It was also apparently taken from a 1936 encyclopedia and frequently lacks subtlety and has a judgemental tone. • Military: Linked to many, many times, and it's a rather important concept, but the article is somewhat anemic. If someone could simply cut-n-paste in material from other pages (military science, military service, etc.) and organize it, at least that would be something. (Many military-related concepts, such as theater (military) and military geography are mostly substubs though.) I've done a little of that, but I'm really not too interested in the topic, being a Quaker. Some military enthusiast want to help? – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) June 30, 2005 18:48 (UTC)

  • 9_Queens_(film) needs to be expanded to include the 2004-2005 movie "Criminal" - which doesn't have a wikipage. From what I am briefly reading at the IMDB website is that the only thing different is the location of the storyline. So whoever expands the 9 queens film probably should make a disambiguation page over at Criminal since it is also a movie title. Thanks! --x1987x 01:24, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)

Someone already put a link to a babelfish translation so you don't even have to speak spanish to help. • United States Penitentiary, Leavenworth - more on history, current status, famous inmates, etc would make this a much better article. Right now, it's too long to be a stub, but not complete yet.
  • Weatherzone - Article right now reads like a dicdef or an advertising blurb. While it may be important to Australians, not being one I don't see how it is; if it is significant, it needs to be exanded so it doesn't end up on VFD listing.--Mitsukai 15:45, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I'm a weatherzone user, and I don't think the weatherzone website itself is significant enough to warrant an article. It's just a glorified version of the Bureau of Meteorology website. I do think there would be a case for creating an article on [www.theweather.com.au The Weather Company], which manages weatherzone, and also is the main distributor of weather information to TV stations. I'll see what I can do about it, though I really should be studying for exams now :) -- Graham 03:30, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The originating information for this article seems to come from the cited internet source, but was apparantly poorly translated and made little sense. • IED - Improvised Explosive Device - Should describe the typical devices used in Iraq, and countermeasures (jamming).
  • Doxylamine - Should be updated to Wikipedia standards by someone with pharmaceutical expertise. I started the article because it's the antihistamine in NyQuil, but I can't even find a chemical formula for it.
  • firebrick - Could do with a lot of expansion. I've only found some references to it in other places.
  • Dual-tone multi-frequency - Very technical & strong article, but would benefit greatly from someone placing some kind of table relating tones to musical notation - someone's also requested this in the discussion page.
  • AASHTO - I have a feeling this article has great potential, because this is a big organization with a lot of influence. I've requested more information from AASHTO, but their website already has a great deal of useful info we can incorporate. Some users were trying to move it to Wiktionary because of its stubbiness, and I'd like to avert this. Deco 18:49, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • A Tale of Two Turtles - Insignificant documentary someone decided to write an article on. It basically just lists the names of people involved in it.
