Every two weeks, an African Collaboration of the Fortnight will be chosen using this page. This is a specific Africa-related topic which initially either has no article, is a basic stub, or is in need of more information. The aim of this project is to improve the quality of Wikipedia's Africa-related articles through widespread cooperative editing. It is our hope that some of these will go on to become featured articles.

Selecting the next African Collaboration of the Fortnight

Voting

Please vote for as many of the following candidates as you like. Please add only support votes. Opposing votes will not affect the result, as the winner is simply the one with the most support votes (see Approval voting).

Remember: Any registered user is encouraged to vote.

To enter your votes, simply edit the appropriate sections by just inserting a new line with "# ~~~~". This will add your username and a time stamp in a new numbered list item. The vote will look like this:

  1. Username 08:59, Jul 1 2005 (UTC)

If you want to withdraw your votes, don't remove your name and date completely. Instead, place the strike-through tags <s>...</s> on your username. A withdrawn vote would look like this:

  1. Username 08:59, Jul 1 2005 (UTC)

Any vote that has been striken will not be counted but one.

Tie-breakers

In case of a tie, voting will be extended for 24 hours. If there is still a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins.

Nominations

New nominations can be made at any time and should be added at the end of this page. Please use the provided template.

If the page you are nominating already exists, please add {{AfricanCOTWnom}} to the top of its talk page. This expands to:

This is a nomination for African Collaboration of the Fortnight!

If the article is selected as the African Collaboration of the week, please add {{Current African COTW}} to the top of the article page. This expands to:

This is the current African Collaboration of the Fortnight! Please help improve it to featured article standard.

Considerations for nominations

  • Giving reasons as to why an article should become the African Collaboration of the Fortnight may assist others in casting their vote.

Removing nominations

It has been decided that nominations will not be removed due to not getting enough votes.
