Wham! was a pop duo which was formed by George Michael and his best friend Andrew Ridgeley in the early 1980s. The success was instant and within a year they had released their classic debut single, "Young Guns (Go For It)", which became the first in a string of Top 10 hits. Sales of Wham! albums were approximately 20 million units. Famously, they were the first British band to play in Communist China, in a 1985 publicity stunt conceived by their manager, Simon Napier-Bell.
