Steve Jay Blum is a voice actor known primarily for his work in anime dubs and video games. Blum's voice and style of delivery are easily recognizable.

Among Blum's most famous roles are his performances in Cowboy Bebop as Spike Spiegel, in X as Aoki Seiichirou, and Digimon as Flamedramon, BlackWarGreymon, Guilmon, as well as many others including J.P. Shibayama. He did Sago and Eilis in Shinzo, Drago Wing in Dinozaurs, Makoto Shishio in Rurouni Kenshin, Momochi Zabuza in Naruto, Professor Hajime Akebono in Daigunder, Sanjuro in the anime .hack//Legend of the Twilight, an allied officer in Call of Duty, and various guards in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. He was also recently heard in a Geico commercial.

He was frequently billed as David Lucas to avoid running afoul of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for doing voice acting work at below union scale. Steven Blum had said more than once that David Lucas was, in fact, a friend of his, and not a alias. In the case of the Cowboy Bebop movie, which was endorsed by the SAG, David Lucas could not reprise his role as Spike Spiegel, and thus "offically" the job fell to Steven Blum.

Fans of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim can recognize Blum's voice in many other anime series. Besides those already mentioned, some of his starring roles include Roger Smith in The Big O, Kazuma in S-CRY-ed, Mugen in Samurai Champloo, Ken Masters in Street Fighter Alpha, Dhalsim in Street Fighter II V, and Darcia in Wolf's Rain. He is also heard on CN's Toonami block, as the voice of TOM, the block's robotic host.

It has been revealed by Steven Blum in 2004 that he and David Lucas are the same person. David Lucas was one alias Steven Blum used to work on non-unionized shows, with others including: Daniel Andrews, Roger Canfield, Richard Cardona, Andrew Watton, and Steven Jay. He has also been credited as Steve Blum, and Steven J. Blum.
