Jon Voight (born Jonathan Voight on December 29, 1938 in Yonkers, New York) is an American actor of Czech and English descent. Voight received an Academy Award for his performance in the film Coming Home. He has also been nominated for an Academy Award for his performances in both the films Midnight Cowboy and Runaway Train.

Voight married American actress Marcheline Bertrand on December 12, 1971. The couple had two children, actress Angelina Jolie and James Haven. Voight and Bertrand separated in 1976 and divorced in 1978. Voight said on the O'Reilly Factor that he was a practicing Roman Catholic, and is currently filming a mini-series on the life of Pope John Paul II, in which he plays the lead role. Voight's grandfather was a Czech immigrant.
