Elections

The Pitcairn Islands elect an Island magistrate (the mayor) and a legislature. The Island magistrate is elected by popular vote for a three-year term. The Island Council has 10 members, 4 members elected for a one year term, three members elected by the elected members, two nominated members and one member ex officio. Council elections are held in 24 December of every year. See: Pitcairn Islands election, 2004

Political parties

Due to its size, this tiny democracy doesn't have political parties.
