Alibaba.com (阿里巴巴) is a Chinese E-commerce / auction company serving both Chinese customers in their native language and English-speaking customers who wish to do business with Chinese sellers.

On August 11, 2005, Yahoo Inc. announced that it would purchase a 40% stake in the company for US$1bn plus Yahoo's Chinese assets (worth about US$700mm) . Alibaba will take charge of Yahoo! China, and founder Ma Yun (Jack Ma) will remain.
