This will give you an idea of the clarity of the water. I could easily see 3 feet down to the sandy bottom which was usually peppered with empty snail shells.
I was able to snag an empty shell with my paddle. It turned out to be an Apple Snail. This snail is a familiar species found in the Wacissa, Suwannee, and other grassy North Florida Rivers.
