An elaborate stairway leads to the bottom of this amazing sinkhole. The original steps were composed of railroad ties pinned into the soil. Over time this cause significant problems with erosion and destruction of the vegetation. The new stairway solved these problems by ensuring visitors stay on the stairway and by elevating the structure off the surrounding soil.
A number of people had their bored and yawning spawn in tow. In spite of that it was fairly quiet.
