U.S. Highway 62

U.S. Highway 62 runs from the United States-Canada border at Niagara Falls, New York all the way to the US-Mexico border at El Paso, Texas.
Parts of US Highway 62 were on what once the Ozark Trail [1], including the historic bridge across the South Canadian River in Newcastle, Oklahoma (the first structure built with federal highway funds in Oklahoma).

States traversed
The highway passes through the following states:
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Ohio
- Kentucky
- Illinois (co-signed with U.S. Highway 60 for 3,000 feet (914 m), and also U.S. Highway 51 for an additional 500 feet (152 m) around Fort Defiance.) This and U.S. 60 are the shortest U.S. routes (by in-state mileage) in Illinois. U.S. 51 is the longest. This segment exists mostly to bridge the Ohio River and the Mississippi River.

In all of these cases, Business US 62 is an older alignment of the highway.
Additionally, there is also a Spur US 62 in Berryville and Pyatt, Arkansas
