United States Highway 56 is an east-west United States highway that runs for 640 miles from Kansas City, Missouri to northern New Mexico.

Termini

As of 2004, the highway's eastern terminus is Kansas City, Missouri at U.S. Highway 71. Its western terminus is Springer, New Mexico at Interstate 25.
